Their wedding day started off at the reception venue, Christchurch Harbour Hotel, David with Matt and the guys getting ready and Teri with Rachel and the bridesmaids. Transport for the bridal party to the wedding ceremony at Highcliffe Castle was an all Volkswagen affair, a convertible beetle for Rachel and her dad and the bridesmaids following in a retro white split screen camper.
Lighting is always beautiful for the wedding ceremony at Highcliffe Castle (easily one of our favourite ceremony venues in Dorset and the first of five weddings we have there for 2012!) and Rachel (and Matt!) looked amazing and glowed. After the ceremony and the important congratulations from family and guests there was time to use the front of Highcliffe Castle for stunning romantic wedding images against the large castle doors and gothic style grand entrance.
Then it was off to the reception at Christchurch Harbour Hotel, much enjoyment was had by guests as laid on were a great selection of New Forest ice cream which provided a lot of great opportunities for candid images. Rachel and Matt were solely responsible for the amazing look of the reception venue, so many cool vintage style details from the photo table to the wishing tree and vintage sweetie stand, everything looked brilliant and guests especially enjoyed the sweeties!
Weather in the UK can be changeable and we are very used to working in mixed conditions, sometimes you have to be ready to dodge a shower or go outside when the lighting is just right. One such occasion presented itself on Rachel and Matt's wedding day a thick sea mist rolled in off Christchurch Harbour and made a beautiful backdrop for an impromptu portrait session after the wedding breakfast.
Thank you Rachel and Matt for trusting Teri and I with creating your wedding images and for making us feel so welcome and included on the wedding day. It was truly a pleasure and we wish you a wonderful and amazing future together, many congratulations! :)
